What we collect & why
- Your tasks, goals, focus sessions and progress. Created by you and stored on your device using Apple's on-device database. This powers your plan, XP, streaks, and Lottie's mood. This content is not sent to our own servers.
- iCloud sync (optional). If you sign in with Apple, your data syncs through your private iCloud (CloudKit) so it is available across your devices. It lives in your personal iCloud account, and we cannot read that database.
- Sign in with Apple (optional). If you choose to sign in, we receive the identifier Apple provides, plus the name and email you choose to share (which may be Apple's private relay address). We use this only to enable sync and recognize your account.
- Usage analytics (consent-based). Only if you allow it, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect pseudonymous events about how features are used, along with performance and stability data. Analytics stays off until you opt in, and you can turn it off anytime in Settings.
- Push notifications (optional). If you enable notifications, we register a device token with Apple Push Notification service through Firebase Cloud Messaging so Lottie can send the reminders and encouragement you set up.
- Location (optional). If you create location-based reminders, the app uses your device location to trigger them. We do not collect or store a history of your location.
- Google Calendar (optional). If you connect Google Calendar, we access your calendar through Google's authorized APIs to show and coordinate your events. You can disconnect at any time, and we request only the access needed for that feature.
- Diagnostics. Basic crash and performance information may reach us through Apple and Firebase so we can find and fix problems.
If we run ads to tell people about Lottie, we may use privacy-preserving, on-device conversion measurement to understand which campaigns worked. This does not build an advertising profile of you inside the app.
How we use it
To run the app's core features (your plan, XP, streaks, reminders, and Lottie's reactions), to understand aggregate usage so we can improve, to keep the app stable, to send the notifications you opt into, and to answer you when you contact support. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to build third-party advertising profiles.
Service providers
- Apple. App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple, iCloud and CloudKit sync, Push Notifications, and on-device storage.
- Google and Firebase. Google Analytics for Firebase (usage analytics), Firebase Cloud Messaging (delivering push notifications), Firebase App Check (protecting the app from abuse), and Google's on-device conversion measurement for our own ad campaigns. This is subject to Google's privacy policy.
- Google Calendar. Used only if you connect it, subject to Google's terms and the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
We do not permit these providers to use your data for their own advertising.
Data retention
On-device and iCloud data stays until you delete it or remove the app. Analytics data is kept according to our provider's standard retention settings. Support emails are kept for as long as we need them to help you.
Your rights & deleting your data
You can delete your local data at any time in the app, or by removing the app from your device. Signing out and turning off iCloud sync stops syncing. To request deletion of anything we hold, such as analytics identifiers or support messages, email hi@cantina.digital.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict your data, and to withdraw consent. This includes people in the EEA and UK (GDPR), California (CCPA and CPRA), and Mexico (LFPDPPP). We honor these requests. You will never be treated differently for exercising a privacy right.
Children's privacy
Meet Lottie is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it. This aligns with the app's App Store age rating.
International users
We and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when things change and revise the effective date above. Significant changes will be flagged in the app.
